Incredible prime lens
The Sony 50mm f/1.2 GM is a technically exceptional lens, and the f/1.2 aperture is its defining feature. In low-light environments it performs at a level that simply isn’t reachable with slower glass. Scenes that require ISO 12,800 on an f/1.8 lens can be captured cleanly at ISO 400 with this one, with moving subjects and poor lighting conditions that would otherwise produce unusable results. Autofocus is fast and accurate, rarely missing even at f/1.2, which is a meaningful achievement at such a wide aperture. Sharpness and bokeh quality are both excellent.
