This Whirlpool Trash Compactor worked great for the first 18 months but now has started making a banging sound when the Plunger returns to the top and will not turn off. I have to physically turn the machine off. I would expect a whirlpool product to work longer without problems. This unit cost $1200. big ones.

Whirlpool Compactor
The compactor itself runs smoothly and is a fantastic replacement of the 20yo one I had in my home. There was damage to the outside of it and I am now awaiting the free replacement which I hope will run just as great.

This was the only model that has the switch at the top instead of the. Ottom, which we prefer.

Mr. Tee
It took a while to get the compactor, but it’s installed and working great! We had one before and felt we could not do without it now. Seems to operate just like the old one. I hope it lasts as long as the compactor we replaced it with. Looks great and was a perfect fit. The only thing we encountered were a few welding burrs on the inside of the trash bin. I filed them down smooth so they would not tear the trash bag... just a minor thing.

Love it!
My new trash compactor is the best. It is super quiet and the amount of trash that fits in the bag is crazy. I also love that the drawer tips for easier removal of the full bag.

Broke After 3 Years
Worked great until it died suddenly after 3 years. That’s over $400 a year for our ownership.

we bought this May and did not deliver until July and 1 appointment change. We bought the same as before to fit. The quality has decreased and the price over doubled!!
