Features
- Unparalleled resolution in a compact and lightweight camera The A7CR full-frame image sensor delivers fine subject detail in a compact, lightweight body.
- Full-frame 61.0-megapixel Exmor RTM image sensor The back-illuminated image sensor's noise reduction, gapless on-chip lenses, anti-reflection optical coating, elimination of the optical low-pass filter deliver high resolution, high sensitivity, low noise, and wide dynamic range.
- BIONZ XR processing power for exceptional image quality The latest BIONZ XR image processing engine minimizes processing latency while boosting movie and still image processing power, delivering natural gradations, realistic color, low noise, superior image quality and fast menu response.
- Dedicated AI Processor and Real-time Recognition for accurate subject tracking The AI processor supports recognition of human subjects using learned human form and pose data, and also recognition of non-human subjects such as animals, insects, and vehicles.
- Advanced 5-axis optical image stabilization with up to 7-steps of compensation A high-precision image stabilization unit, advanced gyro sensors, and optimized stabilization algorithms effectively detect and correct camera shake.
- Pixel Shift Multi Shooting responds to changing conditions Using the precision in-body image stabilization system to capture multiple pixel-shifted images that are later composited on a PC, composites with approximately 240.8 million pixels can be created.
- Wide-area, high-density autofocus with 693 phase detection AF points The BIONZ XR engine and updated algorithms achieve Fast Hybrid AF performance. Up to 693 phase detection points cover approx. 79% of the image area, accurately acquiring focus even when the subject is small.
- Mobility for advanced, high-performance movie recording The α7CR offers highly detailed 4K movie capture with 6.2K oversampling, plus mobility for gimbal or drone mounted shooting.
- Active Mode image stabilization supports handheld movie shooting Active Mode provides precision stabilisation for movie shooting with advanced gyro sensors and an optimised algorithm.
- Log recording and LUT handling for powerful creative possibilities Cine color gamut settings are also provided for further post processing control, and user-selected LUTs can be applied to preview processed footage to even record footage conveniently with a PP LUT already applied.
- AI-based Auto Framing automatically adjusts framing to highlight your subject Using AI-based subject recognition, Auto Framing automatically crops for optimum framing when shooting movies.
- Consistently accurate exposure and color reproduction The advanced AI processing unit achieves accurate white balance even where the subject is in shade.

Sony A7CR Powerhouse
Great Camera, took it to a trip to White Sands National Park and it performed great. Can’t wait to see how the prints turned out.

Lots of features in a tiny package.
Chose this camera for its size as I do most of my photography hiking. Very impressed with color of photos vs my Google Pixel cell phone. Taking it to Japan in two weeks. I recommend purchasing additional thumb grip can’t imagine not having one now.

Perfect Little SONY A7CR
Amazing Sony Alpha 7CR camera, this little guy is very easy to carry around. Mainly impressed with the photo and video quality. Shines when using SONY Prime Lens. Love using this with my gimbal for videos and very lightweight vs my previous A73 mirrorless camera. Cant wait to take this out on my next adventure!

Tried 2 so far, bith Dead in Arrival
I purchased the A7CR over a week ago, and the first one I received would not charge via a USB-C (not provided) plugged into a wall charger for several hours. Anytime I turned it on, would get ”battery exhausted” before it died.So I returned the first, and the replacement one fives me the same issue. Im not sure if these are bad batteries, or they have a flawed charging port, but I did a Sony support chat and they are sending me a new battery.

Ultimate little sleeper camera
[Employee of bestbuy] This little camera is pretty amazing I’ve been loving it’s compact form factor. I’m coming from a Sony a7iv and I was worried about the feel in the hand and downgraded viewfinder both of which have been adjustment but I’m now loving the small form factor, and the viewfinder is more than usable although it does seem a bit dimmer than the viewfinder on the a7iv same for the lcd screen. The 61megapixles is simply amazing having all that resolution makes it super ez to crop and still retain enough resolution for large print. I have a button programmed to apsc mode which…

Perfect travel camera
Its small form factor, plus high megapixel resolution makes it the best camera to travel around and carry everyday.

Great camera with one tragic flaw
Purchased to replace my A7 IV with the higher mega pixels and smaller body, plus even better autofocus. The camera is lightweight and takes great photos. The big weakness though is the viewfinder. It’s better than the original, but it’s small, not comfortable to use (especially with glasses on), and lacks good resolution compared to the A7 IV or A7R V. In the end, it wasn’t worth the trade off for the compact size for me, but may be fine for others. Depends on your preferences. At this price point, you may be better off finding a A7R V on sale or used. Certainly worth a look.
