It’s best to purchase this range hood during renovations, as its power outlet is about one foot higher than normal and requires modification and additional installation. If the ceiling height is 8 feet, it will be quite cramped near the ceiling. If there are ceiling joists, a custom offset duct will be needed. The inlet is 5 inches, and the outlet can be 6 or 5 inches, but the thickness cannot exceed 3 inches. Can’t install, disappointed buyer :-(
This range hood is beautiful. Was the right design, had the right features. Was really looking forward to the auto features when it sensed the air needed to be cleaned while cooking. Unfortunately I couldn’t actually install it without completely redesigning the kitchen. The bracket that attaches to the wall to hold the unit up is very small compared the unit I was replacing. With it centered on the stove, one of the screw holes lines up directly with a gas pipe. The hood would look silly off center so I had no choice but to return, wasting $30 shipping charge. Run away from Samsung appliances.
Avoid Samsung appliances. This hood has been serviced multiple times. It is now a Frankenstein of parts. Everytime the Samsung service people come out they damage something in the kitchen (cabinets, floor, countertop, etc) and they refuse to take any responsibility. Hood still isn’t working right. I can not have them keep coming out and damaging my kitchen.. seriously having to consider replacing all of the matching appliances with a different brand.
