Great 4K Blu-Ray player with bad remote
The Panasonic DP-UB420 is a good Blu-ray player. Setup was easy and the video and audio quality is good. It’s not too big and fits well in my entertainment cabinet under the screen. The price is decent for what you get and the build, while generic, is fine. My only complaint is the remote. The positioning of the buttons is very bad, and I’ve launched Netflix several times when trying to resume after pausing because the quick button is right over the play button. It’s poor design and is why I docked a star from the otherwise 5-star player.

Spotty Performance At Its Best
Does it work? No. Does it not work? Yes. It can’t make up its mind. Currently it only plays DVDS, a handful of brand new 4Ks, & only one bluray ray. Very disappointed.

DP-UB420-K Manufactured September 25th, 2019
Re: Unpredictable, Unreliable, Limited Longevity I have supported Panasonic throughout the years of childhood, college, and until now. The UB420-K is seven years old in a few days. The apps contained are also old and are no longer supported fully by Netflix, Amazon, & YouTube. This will cause the black screen, jiggery imagery, and poor sound. Unfortunately, apps show exactly how old a device is. I don’t understand why this ”model”, is still on the market. Unless it was due to overstock. The streaming services have hurt the market for physical media. However, people are growing tired of…

Good player
I purchased this item as an open box and it’s been working great

Plays without stopping!
This hi-res 4K player plays so much better than the one I retired. This one does not stop when the disk changes layers - at about 1 hour 10 minutes - every time!

Dvd player
Very happy with this product. I am able to watch my CD’s again including my annual St. Patrick’s Day movies.

Better than ever
I never thought I’d buy another physical disk player. This one is every bit as good as the last one I bought 20 years ago, and that’s a rare thing in consumer electronics these days. I thought streaming services would take care of me forever. But after yet another disappointing family movie night I dug out my old dvd collection and popped one into my PS3, only to have the dialog drowned out by the spinning fans and disk noise. The Panasonic DVD player is perfectly quiet, goes to sleep when I turn off my Samsung Frame TV, and behaves like a perfect little dumb appliance. It asked me to connect…
