Works great, but open box condition had issues
I purchased this KitchenAid 30” downdraft cooktop as an open box unit. Functionally, it works great and does exactly what I need. However, the open box condition came with a couple of downsides worth mentioning: the drip pan was missing, so I had to order one separately, and after the very first use, the glass surface became discolored and cloudy — this happened despite being very careful with cleaning and use. Perfect for Indian cooking
We do not have a lot of options when it comes to downdraft cooking range. Thanks to kitchenaid for still having an option which is actually great. Being an Indian household, we cook a lot and with lots of spices. In an open kitchen floorplan, that means every cooking session the house can fill up with a lot of unwanted smells. Thanks to the poweful downdraft all the smoke and smells are sucked out and you wont even notice anything. It is a good cooking range if you are looking for something with downdraft.

Broken and Missing half the unit
The cooktop itself was broken into a hundred pieces; and the downdraft unit was completely missing - absolutely no way for unit to work without half of the hardware

ATTRACTIVE
Works well. We are not familiar with all the heating options of the various burners, yet. Only real drawback is that it is gorgeous but the black shows EVERYTHING! We have to keep it wiped clean constantly.

Good value for the money
This cooktop was well worth the money. Unfortunately, the first one they sent was defective, and we had to wait for a second one to be ordered and sent. Luckily the installer was the one that made the decision that it was defective. He could’ve easily put it in and never told me and I would never have been the wiser, he was a great installer. I wish I’d gotten his name. Luckily he came back and installed the second one.
