Dual 8-inch (200mm) Polycellulose Ribbed Cone Woofers The 280F features Polycellulose ribbed cone woofers. This pure pulp cone has a proprietary mix of other materials added to improve its rigidity and the ribs echo legendary JBL designs. These woofers produce deep, accurate, room filling bass.
1-inch (25mm) Anodized Aluminum Tweeter in a Next Generation HDI Waveguide Through intense research of previous waveguide designs, JBL has developed a new complex geometry that improves directivity, reduced diffraction, and an overall neutral frequency response both on and off axis. The Stage 2 HDI Horn is coupled to an anodized aluminum dome tweeter to enhance efficiency and dynamics. This new design offers a neutral frequency response both on and off axis.
Compatible with 240H Atmos Module The 280F mates perfectly with the 240H to add Dolby Atmos to your system for an enhanced listening experience. Dedicated Atmos 5-way binding posts hide the wiring and create a seamless appearance.
Precision 2.5-Way Crossover The 280F floorstanding model features a unique two and a half-way crossover design. This unique design crosses over the top woofer right below the tweeter’s output, while the other woofer is crossed over at a lower frequency. This creates a dynamic mid-range but both woofers still extend as deep as they can go for powerful bass. This produces cohesive balanced output with a robust low end that can be both heard and felt.
5-Way Binding Posts Sturdy 5-way binding posts provide the listener with their choice of high-quality connection. They also match the binding posts on the JBL MA AVRs, carrying the cohesive look throughout.
Magnetically Attached Grilles Stage 2 has premium details throughout the line including magnetically attached grilles, unique trim rings and the floating front baffle design - upscale features not typically found on loudspeakers in this price range.
Dedicated ATMOS 5-Way Binding Posts with Integrated Wire Management The 280F features dedicate Atmos 5-way biding posts at the bottom and top of the speaker. This unique design hides the wiring providing a clean uncluttered look.. If the Atmos terminal are not used a cover is provided.
Dual Flared Racetrack Rear-Firing Tuned Ports Dual racetrack flared ports are featured on the 280F. This new flared design reduces the velocity of the air when exiting the speaker cabinet, eliminating any chuffing or coloration of output.

Bad inspector for open box speaker
I bought two of these speakers. One of them was an open box and the other was new. I the open box speaker came without protection foam and was destroyed bad shape. All the corners were smashed on top. Also missing hardware had to go to local Best Buy. They had a new one had to pay more money not happy.

Great sound. Open box not excellent
the sound is very good with a new 7.2 channel Denon AVR 770H, the JBL quad center speaker, JBL powered subwoofer, height speakers, and Denon bookshelf surround speakers. 3 stars because these ( 2) were not excellent as sold. Packaged incorrectly when it it has a huge picture on the box showing how. Missing both speaker bases and the hardware kits for them as well as both owners manuals. One grill cover was between boxes and bent. Best Buy chat kept disconnecting or ending chats with me I was only eventually told to take them to a store for a refund after I had repeated multiple times the…

Worth It! Amazing sound!
Price is a little high. But you get what you pay for. If you can get them on sale as I did, then it is worth it for sure. Most excellent sound! Nice smooth deep bass, smooth mids and crisp highs. No distortion. Of course in order to achieve this you need a quality amp/receiver. I have the JBL MA710 and it pairs perfectly with it. I had a Sony before the MA710 and it sounded fine but kept overheating and shutting off when played loudly. Hence why I spent the extra on the JBL MA710. Loud - Clear - deep bass that rocks the house. The mesh grills are magnetic. Nice Touch!!!
