For even greater accuracy and convenience, especially with busy environments where you need to keep a subject in frame, Face Detection AF and Face Tracking is also available while Manual Focus is set via the focus/zoom ring.
MP4 recording The VIXIA HF G70 supports MP4 recording, specifically, 4K UHD at 150Mbps 30P/24P, plus Full HD 35Mbps or 17Mbps at 60P/30P/24P.
Professional output, custom picture menu and audio scene select A host of output and recording options include Infrared mode, Slow Motion recording in 5x Full HD, Fast Motion recording in 4K/Full HD up to 1200x and an array of Scene Modes.
A custom picture menu enables color matching with other Canon cameras while audio scene mode adds sound recording tuned to your environment. Simultaneous backup and relay recording via dual SD card slots is also included.
1 USB-C cable required to connect to PC or Mac (Optional USB Cables IFC-400U, or IFC-150AB III not included). Audio output through USB is not supported.

Works as expected
Much better than camera phone when zooming. Using 1080p 60fps, a few weekends so far. Purchase of additional battery was required to capture more footage from the day. I saw videos from this camera before purchase and it has delivered that expected quality.

Very nice. Fairly easy to use.
It’s a canon (I have a nice canon dslr too). Great video image quality. Colors are very good without much of any need to color grade. Stock, the settings need to be adjusted (see MarkusPix youtube for guide ..it is easy and takes only a few minutes to do ...but well worth the outcome) Stabilization is quite good but if fully zoomed in you will need to be very steady. with your hands (recommend a shot monopod connected that you can hold with your left hand against your body). Mine had a rare issue that caused serious vignetting when zoomed around 16x and more. According to my research it was…

Not too shabby
This camera stands out for its exceptional quality and user-friendly features, thanks to its intuitive controls. Despite its size, the weight is manageable. However, when attempting to record local high school bands from the announcer’s booth, the camera struggled to capture a wide enough shot, resulting in a somewhat cramped view of the performance area.

Recording with phone for never
It’s a little on the heavy side and will definitely be affected by a shaky hand. I typically just record on a tripod and I get excellent picture in the day and night for recitals.
