• Works great, when it works

These are amazing, easily managed with the ASUS app connected to your main AIMESH router and are packed full of features and strong, dependable signal. They will automatically determine best route and daisy-chain themselves seamlessly. However, they can suddenly die and be defective with no rhyme or reason. I had one die after just 1 or 2 months, and a router die just before warranty expired. Aall of my tech is protected by high end UPS units. Fortunately they were both still under warranty but that requires you to ship it to ASUS for repair/replacement. My experience with ASUS network…

• Great Range

I have a wifi enanled pool pump controller ablut 50 ft away from the house that often lost connection. After installing this extender at fhe edge of the patio (40 ft away from pool controller) no more diaconnections in over 2 weeks. So far so good!

• Not for me

I have a BE30000 and that product is amazing. This, however, sucked. My security cameras would drop a great deal and I guess since it was connecting MLO from the BE30000 and not hard wired, it would drop them. The cameras were extremely close to the BD5 Outdoor and the BD5 not too far from the BE30000. Think I was between -50 and -60 for the most part. Bottom line, I had to connect my cameras to the inside BE30000 and this just got rained on.

• Great investment for outdoor Wi-Fi coverage

Great router than seamless integrates with my Asus AiMesh consisting of Asus GT-BE98 Pro main node and Asus RT-BE 96U x 2 satellite nodes. Total 4 satellite nodes including this ZenWi-Fi BD5 BE5000. I can now place my Sonos Portable outdoor speaker’s anywhere in my yard without dropping the Wi-Fi connection. Works great to have the same tunes playing inside and outside for cook outs and general entertainment. A wired backhaul is best to allow the full range coverage of both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands. All mounting hardware is included. Not sure how well this router would integrate with another…

• Exactly what I needed - An Outdoor Router / AP

This is the 2nd one purchased, use it part of the ASUS AI mesh network at my dad’s property. Wifi is critical at his property since cell phone service is marginal at best and he uses WifI for Wifi calling. Have one setup on the outside of the barn that covers the pond area and can get strong signal quite a long ways away (250 - 300 feet outdoors) connected to the main router via Ethernet.

• A must add if you have other zenwifi devices.

If you want better wifi in your yard and you have already invested in the asus wifi ecosystem this is a great product.

• AI Mesh Ethernet backhaul not working

I have an up and running network consisting of a ZenWifi BT10 router and a ZenWifi BT10 AI Mesh node using Ethernet back haul. I purchased this router to use as an AI Mesh node on my deck at the back of my house to increase my networks signal\range. I ran Cat 6 Ethernet cable and used a POE injector to power this unit. Initial setup was a little tedious but after the third try I was up and running as an AI Mesh node using Ethernet back haul as verified with the ASUS App on my cell phone and the web interface on my PC. After the initial install I would check the status every day or two to see…

• Could not connect all IoT devices

I purchased this access point to give my IoT devices a bit more signal. However, this thing totally ignores half of my IoT devices and those devices can only pick up the signal from the main router. After all the factory resets, SSID creation, firmware updates, along with many other steps. I still can’t get half of my devices to connect. Making this access point totally useless to me.
