The Tamron 28-200mm F/2.8-5.6 (Model AFA071S-700) is the world’s first all-in-one zoom to achieve a maximum aperture of F2.8 at the 28mm wide-angle end. Despite covering a wide range of focal lengths, the lens is lightweight and compact, making it convenient to bring along for all your picture taking needs. When combined with a compact, lightweight full-frame/APS-C mirrorless camera, it allows photographers to capture virtually every scene they encounter in daily use, travel, sports and nature. Tamron did not compromise on optical performance. The use of special lens elements—including LD (Low Dispersion) and XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion)- help suppress chromatic aberrations, making it possible to achieve high image quality from edge to edge. With a MOD (Minimum Object Distance) of 0.19m (7.5 in) at the wide end and 0.8m (31.5 in) at the telephoto end, the lens also offers high-level close-up shooting performance. The AF drive system is powered by the RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) stepping motor unit to deliver high-speed, high-precision performance. The lens also features Moisture-Resistant Construction and Fluorine Coating for added protection.

This is the best lens. Wether you want to do landscape photography, sports (jiu jitsu) photography, wedding photography/ videography or documenting your children growing. The image quality is second to none. The versatility is unmatched and it isn’t heavy.

Great lens for landscape photography
I mainly use the Tamron 28-200mm lens for hiking and landscape photography, and it has become one of my favorite lenses to carry outdoors. When I’m hiking, I don’t want to constantly change lenses or carry too much weight, and this lens gives me a very useful range in one compact setup. The 28mm wide end is great for capturing landscapes, mountains, trails, and wide scenic views, while the 200mm reach is perfect for isolating details in the distance, like mountain layers, trees, wildlife, or compressed landscape shots.
