Features
- World's First Full Frame Global Shutter The Alpha 9 III features the world’s first full-frame image sensor with global shutter. Unlike a rolling shutter that records images sequentially, the newly developed Exmor RS sensor exposes and reads all pixels simultaneously for capture of fast-moving subjects with absolutely no distortion.
- Blackout-free, 120fps Continuous Shooting The Alpha 9 III is defined by speed and accuracy, enabling it to capture decisive moments with ease. It’s capable of shooting continuous bursts at up to 120fps with full AF/AE tracking, with no viewfinder blackout, and its AI processor recognizes subjects with astonishingly high reliability.
- Preserve Split-second Moments At 1/80,000 second maximum shutter speed, the Alpha 9 III makes it easy to capture fast-moving subjects in almost any situation. Compatible flash units can synchronize at all shutter speeds, eliminating drop-off in illumination that occurs with high-speed sync and ensuring even illumination.
- Full-frame Backside Illuminated 24.6MP Exmor RS Image Sensor The Alpha 9 III is equipped with 24.6 million effective pixels, a stacked CMOS architecture and integral memory. This offers high resolution, overwhelming speed, and simultaneous full-pixel readout, so even fast-moving subjects can be captured distortion-free.
- Evolved BIONZ XR Image Processing Engine With up to eight times more processing power than previous versions, the BIONZ XR processing engine minimizes latency and significantly boosts processing power, resulting in higher color gradation, more realistic color reproduction and reduced image noise.
- Composite RAW Shooting for Reduced Noise Composite RAW Shooting captures multiple images which can be merged using Sony’s Imaging Edge Desktop application to create full-resolution images with low noise. This makes it possible to shoot at high shutter speeds or in low light, achieving exceptional image quality even at higher ISO settings.
- Advanced Optical 5-axis Image Stabilization Shoot handheld with confidence. The Alpha 9 III equips a high-precision image stabilization unit, advanced gyro sensors, and optimized image stabilization algorithms to effectively detect and correct camera shake, offering 8.0-step stabilization.
- Up to 120 AF/AE Tracking Calculations Per Second The high-speed readout of the new sensor enables the Alpha 9 III to make up to 120 AF/AE calculations per second, twice that of its predecessor. AF tracks complex subject motions and predicts sudden movements with greater precision than ever before, while AE responds to sudden brightness variations.
- Never Miss an Instant with Pre-Capture Pre-Capture records moments that occur before the shutter is released. Settable from 0.005 to 1 second, it makes it easier to capture split-second moments, such as images of birds taking flight, even if actual shutter release is a little late.
- Capture the Decisive Moment with Continuous Shooting Speed Boost Continuous Shooting Speed Boost temporarily boosts the shooting speed while shooting bursts, ensuring you capture all the action. This is beneficial when shooting sports and other fast-paced activities when the timing of the key moment can be roughly predicted.

Concert photography
It takes beautiful photos and even better video. The built in mic doesn’t need an external mic. I thought the audio even for a concert came out very good as long as you aren’t riding a speaker. The lowest 250 iso and 24mp photos for a low light room like a concert leaves too much noise of the show is too dark. The autofocus isn’t as clear for low lighting but can be more crisp with some editing. I bought this camera in hope to do less time in editing and not miss a moment since I do a lot of candid action movements. It’s not as expected but I’m still learning with it. I’d rather not lose $900…

The best camera for both photo and video! Check it out !

This camera is INSANE!
This camera is absolutely nuts. I shoot sports and wildlife and cannot recommend it enough. The 120fps is a bit over kill but as long as you use CFexpressA cards the buffer will clear quick. ZERO warp in the photo due to the global shutter. Dynamic range isn’t the best but unnoticeable to me. Native ISO is 250 with photo and 2000 in slog which is a bit of a bummer but slap an ND on there if you slow the shutter down. 4k 120 footage with the global shutter 3 . The new grip fits better than previous models. Pricey but it is an absolute workhorse.

A BEAST On A Strap
Who is this camera for? The Sony a9 III camera is a beast! It is for the dedicated photographer; as not many photographers need to photograph a speeding bullet or need a 80,000th of a second shutter speed at 120 frames per second. The a9 III has many features just about all photographers may want to avail themselves with. Once one gets a handle on the operation it’s becomes more fun then a barrel of monkeys! What a beast!
