Loud hissing noise, NO input gain control/trim
I was looking for this amp because of the amount of features and price. It was very disappointing that it has a very loud hissing noise at -6db. The hiss is super loud and definitely not normal. It also doesn’t have any input gain settings. You cannot increase or lower the input gain. I ended up returning it and got a Sony STR AZ5000es. I have no hiss at any loudness level and I have full input gain control. I increased the input FROM my PS5 (out) and Apple TV over 4db. Onkyotx-rz50 have problems with outhdmi no signal
I bought one in June 2023 for my home theater and another in February 2024 for my family room, and a few months ago, both lost video and audio. They turn on, but the TV just shows ”No Signal”; I swapped cables and tried them on other TVs, but the problem persisted. Now I’m waiting on the Onkyo warranty, for just one of them, since the first one I bought is no longer covered.

Awsome AVR
Excellent sound quality for movies and music. Dirac Live room correction is often considered better than many competing calibration systems. Good value compared with similarly equipped models. I have had it for about 2 months, and I love it. I would hardly recommend for other users.

DONT WASTE TIME ON OPEN BOX PURCHASES
Drove from Tampa to Bradenton to pick up open box item in ”excellent” condition (defined as having original packaging and all parts/manuals. Box was taped shut. Tape indicated the receiver was inspected by Best Buy techs. Unit would not power up - called Onkyo customer service who advised return to Best Buy ASAP. Waste of time and gasoline.

Powerful, clean sound with excellent tuning
This receiver delivers strong, clean power with great detail and dynamics. Dirac Live really elevates the experience, tightening the bass and improving overall balance across the room. Movies sound immersive, dialogue is clear, and music playback is precise and enjoyable. Setup is straightforward and connectivity has been reliable. A great centerpiece for a serious home theater system.
