Happy Moe
We bought this product because of the brand’s strong reputation, and overall we’ve been pretty happy with it. The stainless steel does take some work to keep clean and seems to scuff fairly easily, and we do wish the doors opened a bit wider. That said, it looks great in our kitchen, and the hot water dispenser has been a really nice feature we use all the time :)

Failed after two days
Compressor failed after two days. We ultimately returned it. This is our second BAD experience with a GE / Cafe appliance.

Style over substance
This is a beautiful fridge, and when items were scarce bc of covid creating manufacturing shortages, it was one of the only ones available that matched our other appliances. However, the space inside isn’t great and I don’t like that the water doesn’t chill as it dispenses.

DO NOT BUY. Does not keep items in freezer frozen.
Do not buy this piece of junk. After 1 month of use, I noticed items in the freezer had frost on them and food was not frozen. Check the temp setting, and it was reading 15-19 degrees F for the freezer. Would unplug the fridge to let it recycle, and it would be fine for a month or 2 then have the same issues. We’ve had this fridge/freezer for about 16 months, and this has happened too many times. We’ve thrown away a lot of food because of this. Sure it looks nice on the outside, but it’s faulty on the inside. And storage is horrible. We’re a family of 6, and we have to use our old white…

A piece of junk in a pretty package
Beware: the water and ice system on this GE Cafe refrigerator has regularly malfunctioned during the routine replacement of the water filter cartridge which is needed approximately every six months. Recently, I paid $130 for a GE Factory Technician to remove and replace a GE water filter that was stubbornly stuck in the water filter assembly. The GE Technician removed the old filter and inserted a new filter, but he could not complete the filter replacement because the water filter assembly went out of alignment during the water filter removal. Nice Refrigerator
So far, the refrigerator is meeting our expectations. It’s much quieter than the GE Cafe side-by-side that we used have. For our needs, the storage capacity is good. The water & ice dispenser works fine. The hot water dispenser is ok-Our InSinkErator there is no waiting for the water to heat--But it’s a constant temperature, not adjustable like what’s on the refrigerator.
