Failed after a year of use, has 3 year warranty.
Failed after a 1 year and 1 month of use. I had to pay the shipping to return it to WD for replacement; let’s see if WD’s warranty will send a new one or fixed/refurbished/renewed one.

Works as expected
I needed a 16TB space for my NVR. WD Purple is a tried-and-true drive. Best Buy had it in stock, and the price was better than Amazon’s.

Works as expected
I bought this HD for my security camera system after first trying a Seagate, which failed within one week. So far, so good. I’m running it in a Vantec Nexstar JX enclosure and it is doing a great job of handling the stream from 7 high def cameras

A tried-and true drive
I needed a bigger drive for my NVR. WD Purple is a tried-and-true drive. Best Buy had it in stock (delivered via FedEx), and the price was better than Amazon’s, which also had a 2-week delivery backlog.

WD PURPLE
So far, no problems with the way it’s been working.Does its job and it does it well.
-
Horrible shipping
They shipped this device like amazon ships things that might not get broken. Zero packaging inside of the box to hold the drive in place. Sure the box has its own packaging but still it is a very sensitive piece. Woupd not purchase this again as it could lead to early failure.

It Works
It’s a Western Digital hard drive. It works, and that’s it. Set it and forget it; there is no other option besides the purple one for surveillance systems.
