Best 70-200 f4 ever!!
I’ve only had this lens a few days, but wow it’s a riot to shoot with. Took it to the local lake over the weekend and it handled everything I threw at it: runners, cyclists birds, sailboats, tree bark closeups, backlit leaves, sunstars… every single shot came out crisp, clean, and with that gorgeous microcontrast pop Sony G/GM lenses are known for. The close-focus ability is borderline addictive. Being able to go from distant subjects to near-macro without swapping lenses feels like cheating. Build quality is excellent, AF is lightning fast, and the whole thing is so light you forget it’s on…

Best in class lens
I’ve owned a lot of lenses like this, and have used even more professionally since the 1980s. This is hands-down my favorite. Not only is it lightning fast, and works perfectly with my Sony A7IV, but it’s light and compact. It fits in a very small space. Performance is outstanding, and the OSS (vibration reduction) does a great job. And one of the things that make this such a great lens is that it’s a real macro lens. It can hoot at ½ life size throughout the whole zoom range. Color, sharpness, and optical performane is second-to-non.

Best E-mount telephoto lens under $2000
This is one of the best investments adding to my camera toolbox I have done in a while. The Sony 70-200mm F4 OSS II has been on my camera since the day I picked up from the store. Its produced high quality images with the sharpness I was expecting. It’s super light compared to other zoom lenses I’ve used, and owned. As a nature and wildlife photographer that likes to hike and go up in elevation , it’s crucial to keep my load as light as possible, and with this lens there’s no compromise, as it delivers beyond my expectations. Sharp,lighweight,travel friendly zoom lens
Been wanting to own this for quite sometime,the first version of the F4 is $500 less but it’s lacking macro and not compatible with teleconverter.So glad that i decided to get this new version of the 70-200mm f4 macro ii,sharp image,lightweight and just amazing lens.I’m just a hobbyist photographer mostly taking wildlife photos especially birds.Overall,if you want a premium zoom Sony lens that won’t break your bank especially if you are not a pro,this is the one to get.Highly recommended.

Great mid-telephoto lens
I love this lens. It allows me to fill the gap from my standard 28-70 and my 200-600 nicely. I use it for those in between places where I need a little zoom but not a lot to justify my heavier lens. The photos are remarkably good.
