Great for amateur bird photography
I purchased to replace an earlier model. I tried others that were smaller, but this had better field of view. I primarily use to take photos of nature/birds. This model even has a preset specifically for bird zoom focus.

More than adequate
I purchased this camera earlier in the year. Its now late 2025 and i now have some things to say about it. I owned the P900 but gave it to my grandson for a graduation present. I purchased this cause i loved the P900 so much. This camera is just an update with 4k movies. The biggest problem i had was the battery. It was junk but wasn’t sure if the camera was the problem or not. So cheapest way to troubleshoot was to buy knockoff batteries and check. The knockoffs showed it was the battery not the camera. The battery that came with it was junk. The menu system is ok. I think it could be more…

Poor Nikon customer support for bad charger
Overall, I like the camera. The zoom is great for birdwatching. However, the charger that came with the camera stopped working with a couple of months. When I contacted Customer Service at Nikon I was told I would have to ship the charger to them at my own cost. They would then determine if they would fix the charger or replace it. For $900.00 I expect the charger work and be replaced immediately if it fails. Poor customer support.
