It can shoot Astro!
My goal for this lens was to shoot birds and try it out for some deep space objects. I have prime lenses that I use for astro photography that perform well, it I need a little more reach and before I commit to another prime lens, I wanted to try this out for that. Needless to say, mounted on my tracker, this performed exceptionally and I was able to capture Andromeda cleanly on my first try.

Excellent Lens!
I’ve been really impressed with the Sony 70-350mm. The image quality is incredibly sharp throughout the zoom range, and the autofocus is fast, accurate, and quiet. I primarily use it for wildlife, birds, and landscape photography, and it consistently delivers crisp, detailed photos. One thing I appreciate most is how lightweight it is compared to other telephoto lenses. I can carry it for hours without feeling weighed down, which makes it perfect for hiking and traveling. Excellent Telephoto Reach with Sharp Results
The Sony E 70-350mm f/4.5-6.3 is a fantastic telephoto lens with impressive reach for wildlife, sports, and distant subjects. Images are sharp throughout most of the zoom range, and autofocus is fast and accurate. It’s also relatively lightweight for a lens of this range, making it easy to carry on longer shoots. A great option for APS-C Sony shooters looking to extend their reach.
